History of Dewkalash Union

 

No.7 Dewkalash Union Parishad

Bishwanath, Sylhet.

Dewkalash union is located in Bishnath upazila of Sylhet district. This union was established in 1960. At that time there was a house situated in Kandigram near the union. The house was named Chowdhury Bari. Chowdhury's house in front of the Kandigram Government Primary School was a house built for the Chhaganwari's bungalow or palace. In 1960 there was a "Dewkalash Union Parishad"

 

In 1992, the newly elected chairman and local councils of the area were transferred to the union council. In continuation of this, Dewkalash Union Parishad was shifted by the Basia River adjacent to the warehouse Ghat Road under Gazi Mokam Road. Here all the activities under the Union Parishad are being organized.
